JOSHUA THALLAS, born in Iowa and raised in Denver, Colorado, is an entrepreneur and business owner. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1998 and began his career in retail grocery. By the time he turned 21, Josh was a young father with two daughters, Isabella and Lucia. Over the years, he worked for various establishments, including Safeway, King Soopers, and Costco, ultimately concluding his retail grocery career at Trader Joe’s after 20 years. Always driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Josh has explored a variety of ventures. In 2015, he founded his own company, collaborating with several property management firms as a handyman before eventually branching out on his own to undertake full home remodels.
As a father willing to sacrifice his own life for his children, the death of his oldest daughter, Isabella, in June 2020, was utterly devastating for him. Josh sought to transform his grief into a sense of purpose and find ways to give back to others. He felt compelled to carry on her legacy in true Isabella fashion, embodying love and kindness toward everyone she met. Months after Isabella's passing, as a true entrepreneur, he devised the idea of honoring his daughter’s legacy through a nonprofit foundation. Josh envisioned the concept, while his wife, Tiffany, brought it to life. Together, Tiffany, Josh, and daughter Lucia channeled Bella's love for the arts and developed the foundation's mission to nurture opportunities for emerging talents in art, fashion, and photography.
Josh is a co-founder and director on the executive board, working alongside his daughter Lucia at the Isabella Joy Thallas Foundation, where he acts as the organization's "face.”
